The American Logistics Management Association narrowly defines logistics as: the process of planning, implementing and controlling raw materials, semi-finished goods inventory, finished goods and related information from the point of consumption to the starting point efficiently and cost-effectively, so as to achieve the purpose of recovery value and appropriate disposal.
